Melville, NY- April 6, 2017. Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. is proud to announce its nomination for the 2017 Lloyd’s List Americas Award, Ship Operator of the Year. The nomination is focused around Bouchard’s latest expansion, as well as the company’s laser focus on safety. Finalists and industry executives will gather together on May 25th in New York City, where thewinners for each category will be revealed and awarded for their achievements made in the last year.
2016 marked major accomplishments for Bouchard, including the conclusion of a major expansion plan which produced the most impressive and modern ATB units currently in the industry; the M/V Kim M. Bouchard & B. No. 270 and M/V Donna J. Bouchard & B. No. 272. The expansion also included two new ATB tugs; the M/V Frederick E. Bouchard and M/V Morton S. Bouchard Jr., as well as the conversion of two barges to Intercon.
Safety also continues to be Bouchard’s top priority, and it is showcased within the design of all vessels, as well as within Bouchard’s routine maintenance policies. The technological advancements consistently made to Bouchard’s fleet allow for an efficient operation that limits risk by providing environmental protection, a safe work environment for the crew, and a reliable service for customers.
