MELVILLE, NY – Bouchard Transportation Co., the nation’s largest independently owned oceangoing petroleum barge companies, had six vessels recognized by the United States Coast Guard for their outstanding contribution to the Amver (Automated Mutual assistance VEssel Rescue) System in 2014.
The vessels receiving the certificates of merit were the M/V Brendan J. Bouchard, the M/V Denise A. Bouchard, the M/V Evening Star, the M/V Jane A. Bouchard, the M/V Linda Lee Bouchard, and the M/V Morton S. Bouchard IV.
Amver awards are given to vessels that send position reports and are available to divert a minimum of 128 days per year. Combined, Bouchard’s six recognized vessels had over 1900 days “on plot”.
